Having younger looking skin is something most of us long for once we start approaching our late thirties, and how we long for some miracle product capable of stopping the aging process dead in its tracks. Unfortunately however, there doesn’t seem to be any evidence to suggest that a miracle cure is about to hit the shelves any time soon, so in the meantime, we’ll just have to make do with what we’ve got, and with what we know.
First and foremost, it’s important to remember that the older you get the more effort it’s going to take if you’re serious about keeping your skin nice and youthful. If you’re under the impression you can achieve your goals simply by spending a fortune on cosmetic products, I’m afraid you’re going to be sorely disappointed. While using the ideal skin care products can certainly help, you’ll also need to accept the fact that a few lifestyle changes may be necessary as well.
One of the biggest culprits for sagging skin is lack of sleep, but of course with most of us living a hectic lifestyle nowadays, getting as much sleep as we’d like isn’t always possible. With that said, no matter how pressed for time you are, you need to get at least 7 or 8 hours of sleep each night
Excessive amounts of stress and worry could also be preventing you from having younger looking skin, so if your career causes you a great deal of stress, you need to do something about it. While you more than likely can’t just quit your job, you probably could make an effort to set more time aside for enjoying recreational activities. You might also want to consider meditation, and/or some yoga, both of which are known to be superb stress busters.
Your diet is the next thing you need to look at. Just making a few simple changes to your diet can work wonders for a person’s skin. If you currently eat a fully balanced diet you honestly have good reason to feel proud, because the vast majority of us live on a diet which is far from being ideal. For example, Omega-3 fatty oils play a crucial role in skin health, and yet most people get nowhere near enough in their diets. If you’re well and truly serious about avoiding, or at least reducing fine lines and wrinkles, you will have to consider taking a few high quality dietary supplements on a regular basis.
Skin care products are also a leading cause of premature aging when it comes to one’s skin. Many of the products which people use so faithfully are in fact incredibly detrimental to skin. It is estimated that approximately 90% of skin creams contain chemicals which are considered to be harmful for skin. The reason behind this is the fact that the cosmetics industry doesn’t need to answer to the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) – they can do as they please, and they can use any ingredients they like.
Nobody can stop the aging process entirely, but by ensuring your body is getting all the vitamins and nutrients it requires, and by using good quality, chemical free skin care products, you certainly can have younger looking skin.
